While teaching a lesson on "making conclusions in reading".....
Me: "So class, why do you think making conclusions is important?"
Student D: "Mrs. Tull, do you go to church?"
Me: "Hmm, that doesn't really have anything to do with reading."

Tim Tebow and the World Series
One of my students thinks he's Tim Tebow and he writes his name as "N---- Tebow" on all of his papers.
So the kids know I'm a HUGE Yankees fan and super happy they are in the World Series....
Student D: "Mrs. Tull, did you go to the World Series last night?"
Me (in a ridiculously sarcastic tone): "Yes, I drove all the way up to New York last night and then drove back in time for school today."
Student D: "That's so cool!"
Apparently he doesn't understand sarcasm.....

Beast!
At recess....
Me: "Okay, let's play girls vs. boys at soccer."
Student from another class: "But Mrs. Tull, there are more boys than girls."
Me: "It's okay, you have me on your team!"
Student from my class: "Yeah, Mrs. Tull is beast at soccer."

So this student is running for student council president and his poster was awesome. It said, "A vote for [student name] is a vote for kids!"
I need a piece of paper....
Student L: I need a piece of paper.
Student G: No, you need Jesus in your life!
